Dear Friends KEEP UP THE FIGHT TO STOP HB 7189/SB 6 Take Action! House Bill Heading to Final Vote   CALL AND EMAIL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE NOW!   HB 7189 (the House version of SB 6) is on its way for the FINAL vote in the Florida House on Thursday. TAKE ACTION NOW! More than 200 teachers traveled to Tallahassee on Monday to voice their opposition and listen to the House Education Policy Council debate this bill.  It is clear, from what they witnessed during that meeting, that HB 7189/SB 6 raises more questions than answers.   READ THE BILL But supporters of the bill are telling teachers "don't worry, trust us."  The House needs to send this bill back to the drawing board.  HB 7189 will require that ALL teachers be assigned, compensated, certified and terminated based on test scores. HB 7189 says that ALL teachers could lose their professional license if their students don't test well based on a learning gains model that hasn't been created, piloted or validated.
